PlayStation 5 Pro users were eager to experience Wuchang: Fallen Feathers with enhanced visuals and smoother gameplay — but early impressions suggest the highly anticipated action RPG has stumbled out of the gate.

While the game officially launched with PS5 Pro enhancements, players are reporting a range of performance issues that have cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a showcase title.

Enhanced, but Unpolished: Wuchang Disappoints on PS5 Pro

Although developer Leenzee Games promised PS5 Pro optimization, users have flooded forums and social media with complaints about technical shortcomings. Reports highlight frequent frame drops, stuttering, and inconsistent visuals, especially in more graphically demanding areas.

The game offers three display modes:

  • Quality Mode, aiming for 60 FPS, but frequently falling short
  • Performance Mode, offering better frame rates but noticeably lower image fidelity
  • Balanced Mode, which attempts a middle ground but still suffers from erratic performance

None of the three modes appear to offer a truly stable experience, which has left PS5 Pro players underwhelmed.

PC Players Also Report Widespread Issues

It’s not just console players feeling the frustration. The PC version of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers has also come under fire on Steam, where early reviews cite performance woes as a major drawback. Many note that the game has potential — particularly for fans of dark fantasy RPGs — but its technical problems make it hard to enjoy right now.

Developer Response Still Pending

So far, neither Leenzee Games nor publisher 505 Games has issued a statement regarding the performance criticisms. Players remain hopeful that a post-launch patch will address the core issues soon.

For now, both PS5 Pro and PC gamers may want to wait for updates before diving in.
