Amid ongoing legal tensions related to Subnautica 2, South Korean gaming giant Krafton has finalized a major acquisition: Eleventh Hour Games (EHG), the studio behind the hit ARPG Last Epoch, is now officially part of the Krafton family.

📌 Deal Valuation: $96 million
📌 Announced: Friday via official press release

A Rising Star in the ARPG Genre

Founded in 2018, Eleventh Hour Games gained global recognition with its breakout title Last Epoch, which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide since its full launch in 2024.

This acquisition aligns with Krafton’s long-term strategy to diversify its IP portfolio and strengthen its global presence, particularly within the action role-playing game (ARPG) space.

“Through this acquisition, Krafton aims to secure a competitive franchise IP in the Action RPG genre and further strengthen its position in the global market,” the company stated.

What This Means for ‘Last Epoch’

Krafton emphasized that Eleventh Hour Games will maintain full creative independence, with the publisher providing support across live-service development, global publishing, and team expansion.

As part of the roadmap, Last Epoch is expected to:

  • Expand to console platforms
  • Accelerate its seasonal content cycle
  • Set the foundation for a long-term franchise ecosystem

Judd Cobler, CEO of EHG, said:
“Joining Krafton is a dream come true. Their deep-rooted passion for ARPGs aligns perfectly with our mission. With their backing, we’re poised to elevate Last Epoch to new heights.”

Krafton’s Broader Vision

This deal comes at a strategic time for Krafton as it navigates legal disputes tied to Subnautica 2, but also seeks to double down on genre leadership. The company praised EHG’s grassroots origins and innovation-first culture.

Maria Park, Krafton’s Head of Corporate Development, added:
“Eleventh Hour Games has grown from an indie team into a globally recognized ARPG developer. This acquisition reflects our ongoing commitment to empowering creative studios and investing in player-first experiences.”
